Blue pill or the red? A choice that would lead you to your reality. A choice that is within your grasp to begin a journey of life or death. Which world is an illusion? Deut. 30:15, “See, I set before you today life and prosperity, death and destruction. For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to Him, and to keep His commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess.”

Options that would change our views as individuals that would lead us down the rabbit trail to either life or destruction. The red pill is the unpleasant truth that nobody in the world wants to digest. As we take the red pill we enter into worlds that will transform our perception of life and what is expected of us. Expectancies that is required as sons since we have a guide (Jesus) that will teach mysteries beyond our intellect. Eternal inheritances that are at our fingertips to move us in a deeper relationship with Christ and function as sons in His house. At first we will not understand, let alone comprehend the reality of what we got ourselves into. We have defied our day to day lives to grasp more of what is out there (inward of ourselves) to expand who we are as sons…as the one.

The blue pill is defined as blissful ignorance. The worldly desire that creates chaos in our minds and hearts. The system that locks in man as a prisoner of death. We go about the routine of life, slowly decaying as we figure out our destiny in this world, but cannot quite put it together. We tend to ignore the voice of Christ that echoes throughout this world, but only a few will hear it.

Blissful ignorance are the ones that think they got it under control and don’t need God for assistance. They rather make excess amount of money through hard labor (kingdom of earth principles) cheating, lying, stealing, etc. and label themselves rich and wanting more, rather than accepting the red pill – exploring new kingdoms – manifesting His power so that creation can awe at the magnitude of Christ. This is their reality of life and are completely unaware of the tragic ending to this. A scream for help is non-existent, because the god of this world has blinded the hearts of men.

The illusion of sickness, infirmity, false destination, rat race, loneliness, depression, suicide are magnetic impulses that captures the heart of men to be completely deceived. As I have received the red pill, this world is not my reality. I choose to not be defined by man’s way of living, but what the Holy Spirit guides me into. As I journey through the vast heavens, I acknowledge the importance of becoming a son and ruling over my Fathers house.

As sons we need to make up our minds to either disregard the commonalities of illusions in what this world has to offer, or to abide in the reality of Christ. Illusions have plenty to offer considering death and destruction, but life eternal will be given to you when Christ abides in you. As you understand and grasp what you are capable of doing i.e., stopping bullets, flying, having access to doors in kingdoms (Neo)…okay, well Jesus is just as powerful and more by walking through walls, raising the dead, transrelocating, etc. it will be undeniably blissful.

In the words of Morpheus to Neo, “I can only show you the door. It is up to you to walk through it.” That door is Christ. Let Him Lord over your life. Take the red pill and stop allowing the illusionist (Lucifer) of this crooked and perverse world to entertain your thoughts.

Proverbs 23:7 mentions that whatever a man thinks in his heart, that he will be. The scriptures speak about individuals that acted on their emotions through the heart. It is the central wisdom point of emotions, rather than the head point of thinking. Everything you do streams from the heart and flows into action.

The person that you are stems from what you believe such as religion and other resources. What resource are you using to make up the person that you are? For example receiving Christ into your heart. He enters your heart, because that’s where the center of your person starts. That is the access control of your identity. We have made a legal agreement to allow a divine being to overtake our person; spirit, soul and body.

Now that we have gone through the agreement stage there are many other contracts and agreements that need our attention. Many come from generational bloodlines, word curses, programs, etc. There is one thing that can change the person you are this instant…your words. Take for example your fitness level. If you are wishing to successfully fulfill your fitness goal your first step is to think about it. From your heart comes the thoughts, the planning and most importantly surrounding yourself with good quality trainers and others in that field who are experts.

As you continue down that journey, obviously there will be obstacles like temptation of food, laziness, a plateau, injuries and such. Now are you going to stop at this obstacle and stare at it? Hope not. Get over that injury, food temptation and others that detour you from what you want. Now let’s take the spiritual aspect of this. If you have some ungodly habit that is pushing you to the side and saying you’re not worthy, use your words to remove these spirits from your life.

Take control of your environment by untangling yourself from the addiction and other habits that is creating a dark cloud over your life. As you continue to take control of your life you will soon realize that whatever has been keeping you in bondage is gone. The addiction is gone, the habits, anger, etc. There are times where you will not even think about the circle of torment you went through. But it takes consistency; it takes grit and dedication when you speak to these things. Not to limit the power of Christ, but it may take days, months or even years. Remember, it all starts from the heart. Jeremiah 17:9 speaks, “The heart is more deceitful than all else and is desperately sick, who can understand it?” This is why we need Christ in our hearts. He gives us direction, healing, knowledge and other infinite wisdom on how we can become the person He has created us to be.

Remember, to set a guard over your heart. Set an atmosphere of godliness in your environment. Speak to yourself the goodness of God and the abundance He has for you. As you repeatedly speak the promises of God and ACT on them; you will be the person Christ made you to be. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind(heart) Romans 12:2.

James

There are two popular definitions for denial.

Denial, in psychiatry, a defense mechanism in which the existence of unpleasant internal or external realities is kept out of conscious awareness. An unconscious defense mechanism characterized by refusal to acknowledge painful realities, thoughts, or feelings.

Those (usually narcissists) who are labeled by others as being unaware of using certain tactics to fool people into changing their opinion or impression about them, usually to achieve a better evaluation from others. They commonly use manipulation of events and deflect blame or responsibility for negative behavior onto someone else or onto exterior circumstances. Their behavior might seem automatic or just normal to some and it’s tempting to think it is done unconsciously. But is it?

Here’s an example of each:

Let’s take an example of a woman who has been married to the same man for 40 years and she has just rushed him to the hospital because, while they were out in the yard working, he began having trouble speaking and looked like he was in some distress. The doctors later tell her that he has suffered a massive brain bleed, is now virtually brain-dead, and will not recover. Every day she is by his bedside, holding his hand and talking to him. The nurses tell her that he cannot hear, but she talks to him every day. The doctors tell her he will not recover, but she tells herself, “I know he’ll pull through, he’s so strong.” This woman is in a unique psychological state — the state of denial. She can hardly believe what has happened. Not long ago she was in the yard with her darling, enjoying one of their favorite activities. He seemed to be the picture of happiness and health. He didn’t seem that sick when she brought him to the hospital. Now, they’re telling her he’s gone. This is more emotional pain than she can bear. She’s not ready to accept that her partner of 40 years won’t be coming home with her. She’s not quite ready yet to face a life without him. So, her unconscious mind has provided her with an effective (albeit temporary) defense against the pain. Eventually, as she becomes better able to accept the distressing reality, her denial will break down, and when it does, the pain it served to contain will gush forth and she will begin the grieving process.

Now, let’s take another example of what is also commonly called Denial. Joe, the teen aged bully, strolls up to one of his unsuspecting classmates and engages in one of his favorite mischievous pastimes: shoving the books out of her arms and spilling them on the floor. It just so happens that the hall monitor catches the event and sternly hollers: “Joe!” to which Joe responds, spreading his arms wide open and with a look of great shock, surprise, and innocence on his face and exclaims, “Whaaaat?” Is Joe in an altered psychological state? Is his altered state brought about by more emotional pain than he could possibly bear? Does he really not understand the reality of what has happened or think that he really didn’t do anything? Is he so consumed with shame and/or guilt for what he’s done that he simply can’t bear to believe he actually did such a horrible thing? More than likely, the answer to all those questions is NO.

Joe is probably more concerned that he has another detention coming, which means another note to his parents, and possibly even suspension this time around. So, he’s got one, long-shot tactic to try: he’ll do his best to make the hall monitor believe she didn’t really see what she thought she saw. The hallway was crowded. Maybe it was someone else. Maybe it was just an “accident.” If he acts surprised, innocent, and righteously indignant enough, maybe, just maybe, she’ll begin to doubt herself. He hopes that, unlike him, she might just have an overactive conscience and excessive sense of guilt or mercy to think she might have misjudged the situation. Maybe she’ll even beat herself up for jumping to conclusions too quickly or for causing a possibly innocent party (Joe) emotional pain. This tactic has worked before. Maybe it will work again.

However, the hall monitor was on to him. When Joe realized that he couldn’t just manipulate the hall monitor, he reluctantly stopped denying it, saying: “Well, maybe I did do it… but she had it coming because she’s always talking bad about me.” Now, stopping right there, we could discuss the tactics Joe is using to continue the game of manipulation and impression management, but the most important thing to recognize is that unlike what happens in the case of real psychological denial as a defense mechanism (first example above), in Joe’s case we don’t anticipate or ever see an outpouring of anguish and grief when the denial ends. The reason is simple. Joe was never “in denial” (the psychological state). He was simply lying, and he eventually stopped lying only because it wasn’t getting him anywhere. He then moved on from lying to excuse-making and playing the victim, which are also effective tactics of manipulation and impression-management. He is effectively a Master Manipulator.

There are 4 levels to this MASTER MANIPULATION tactic called denial:

Denial of facts (“it never happened; I’m not a liar, you’re the liar!”), followed by:

Denial of awareness (“I was drunk,” or “I didn’t realize I was neglecting you; you should have told me”)

Denial of responsibility (“You were the one who was seductive,” or “If you didn’t deny me, I wouldn’t have had to have an affair.”) See how they turn the tables on you, deflecting the responsibility away from themselves?

Denial of impact (“It only happened a few times,” or “It was only a kiss,” or “OK, so I hit you. Why do you always have to dwell on the past? You’re just too sensitive; get over it!”).

What we need to understand here is that the denial of the unfortunate elderly woman mentioned above is nothing like the so-called denial of Joe the school bully. One is a defense mechanism to keep the psyche functioning in times of trauma, the other, a narcissistic form of manipulation and a responsibility avoidance tactic. The first example is an unconscious mechanism of protection from deep emotional pain; the other is a deliberate, calculated lie. Yet many use the same term to describe these two very different behaviors. Even mental health professionals may presume that there is only one type of denial and they often assume that whenever denial is involved that it’s of the defense-mechanism variety. I often hear them speak of clients who are still in denial about one problem behavior or another when what they’re really describing is a client who is still lying and manipulating as part of the game of impression management and responsibility-resistance. Again, there is a difference in the definitions and common use of the term denial in mental health arenas and I wanted to point out the differences to you so that you are informed.

Now that we understand the difference between denial & manipulation tactics, let’s look at how we might observe the latter example in our own or others’ lives.

What role does fear play in denial?

Fear keeps us bound, blinded, and isolated. We become stagnant and set in our ways and resistant to allowing others to speak truth into our lives or to intervene. We are always “right” even when evidence clearly shows the opposite.

I know nothing good lives in me, that is, in my sinful nature. For I have the desire to do what is good, but I cannot carry it out. Rom 7:18

For God does not give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7

How can denial be harmful?

When denying reality enables us to continue engaging in an unhealthy behavior (e.g. addiction, impulsive risk-taking, etc.) or when it facilitates the continuation of a harmful situation (e.g. abusive relationship, a job that exploits you, etc.) then it’s pretty safe to say that it is harmful. Unfortunately, most people won’t recognize the harmful effects of denial until they are knee-deep in a bad situation. If the same bad outcomes keep happening to us and we can’t seem to figure out why, there’s a good chance that we are denying reality in some way.

Do you pay attention to recurring negative themes?

Recurring negative themes (e.g. a series of harmful relationships, negative side effects related to an addictive behavior, etc.) are good red flags for denial. Chances are that we are either creating an environment that is conducive to the negative outcome we don’t want, or we are fooling ourselves into thinking that we have control over a situation that we really are helpless to affect. If you see a recurring theme, know that you’re probably denying a truth.

Do you blame groups of people?

If you find yourself saying things like “all [insert adjective here] people are no good,” then you’re probably denying your role in a situation. It’s highly unlikely that everyone else in the world is colluding against you so you’re probably doing something to contribute to the negative outcome you’re complaining about. Take note whenever you use black & white thinking, using superlatives (e.g. ‘always’, ‘never’, ‘everyone’, ‘nobody’, etc.), to describe what you think is the cause of your dilemma. It’s probably those occasions that you need to take inventory of YOUR behaviors… after all, the one common thread in all of your dilemmas is YOU (your character defects, effects of sin you’ve committed, or agreement with the fruits of the sin done to you).

Are all your friends similar?

Keep someone who thinks very differently from you as a friend. People are likely to surround themselves with like-minded people. If you’re denying something, your like-minded friends may just reinforce your denial because they may see things the same way you do. Having someone who challenges your opinions and assumptions can do wonders for learning what questions you have to ask yourself about a given situation because they are probably going to question why you feel the way you do. In other words, stay open to new ideas. Just because someone questions your opinion on something doesn’t make them a bad person. Try to see situations from another’s point-of-view.

Looking at the above examples, we can start to understand that denial, as a manipulative responsibility-avoidance tactic, does play a role in how they view their world. The denial is a self-protection mechanism that the narcissist employs to keep themselves from having to be authentic and vulnerable, which helps them avoid intimacy in relationships. Ultimately, they reject people first so that they won’t be rejected.

When this person finally decides to come out of the denial of manipulation, they run into powerlessness over their situations. They become aware that they cannot effect change in their lives by doing the same thing over and over. Something has got to change. This is where reaching out for support groups, inner healing or deliverance can be a life-changing process. If I were to summarize the manipulative version of denial, I would say that the use of the word denial best describes ungodly belief systems that are rooted in a spirit of rejection and the fruit of that spirit is contempt of others and self-rejection. See Figure 1 below.

My prayer is that you would have freedom & peace.

Cycle of Dealing With An Ungodly Belief System

1.Experiencing the Issue in Life

2.Belief about Self

3.Emotion Experienced

4.Behavior Exhibited

This cycle keeps repeating.

Quality of life does NOT improve.

OR

The Result of Repairing the Belief System

1.Renounce the ungodly beliefs, repent of them and receive the Truth & Identity in Christ

Have you ever wished you didn’t have to live through something tough going on in your life? Verse 27 of this passage addresses this very thing.

John 12:25-27 KVJ

25: He that loveth his life shall lose it; and he that hateth his life in this world shall keep it unto life eternal.

26: If any man serve me, let him follow me; and where I am, there shall also my servant be: if any man serve me, him will my Father honour.

27: Now is my soul troubled; and what shall I say? Father, save me from this hour: but for this cause came I unto this hour.

Jesus was talking about His own appointment with death. He dreaded it (actually sweated blood) but knew that it was why He came into the world. It was part of His Father’s plan. Do you realize that you do NOT have an appointment with death? Only Jesus had that… but I digress.

In this passage, we can relate to the feelings that come with a troubled soul. In our desperation we may ask God to save us from the terrible situation we are in and wish that Jesus would just swoop in and save us from it. Well, Jesus doesn’t usually remove us from our hardships. However, we can find some comfort in Jesus’ words here. He says, “But for this cause came I unto this hour.” Like Him, we have to face some hardships that we would rather not deal with but it is part of God’s larger plan for us. We will be stretched, we will learn and grow. The bible promises that “No weapon formed against you shall prosper. Isa 54:17” Read that again. It says no weapon formed against you shall prosper. It does NOT say that weapons won’t be formed against you. Yes, we will have weapons formed against us. We just have to remember that God is watching over us and we will not be harmed – even in the hour we might consider to be a terrible hour. The very hour we dread contains the reason we came into it. There is a cause, a very good reason, for why we are experiencing that very hour. It is uncomfortable and it impacts us. But when we look back at the situation later we usually can gain understanding about WHY it happened. You can usually see how God worked something out and positioned you or protected you. Look at all experiences as something to learn from and find the beauty in that revelation as a gift from God. You are in this hour for a reason – be encouraged! Selah

Today, as a follow-up, I am covering verse 26. Here servanthood promises a curious thing – an omnipresence for us human folk. Let’s think about this.

Jesus says that we are to follow Him if we serve Him. Okay, we can wrap our heads around the idea of literally walking after Jesus even if the idea of following Jesus seems crazy overwhelming. You with me? Now, this next part is where things get interesting. Jesus says, “Where I am, there shall also my servant be.” That servant is you and me. Jesus doesn’t just live in Heaven now, He lives in our hearts, he’s multi-dimensional, he’s omnipresent. Where He is, we are also. So, you see, we have been given the ability to move between dimensions through the torn veil and blood of Jesus to enter into the Heavenly realm and bring the Kingdom of God to Earth. Yes, there’s so much more to it than this but this is simply the declaration that Jesus makes in just one verse. Wherever He is, we are also. I John 4:13 confirms this with This is how we know that we live in him and he in us: He has given us of his Spirit. In addition, the second part of verse 26 is a conditional promise that says if we serve Jesus (Yeshua Hamashiach) then Father God (Yahweh) will honour us. What wonderful promises that make living this life a little easier!

Blessings,

I came across some bible verses that provided some insight into the long-sought-after question of why is life so hard? Today we will focus on just verse 25.

I hear Christians say things like, “Life is too hard! I hate living in this world, I don’t belong here.” I get it. It’s because we live in a broken world and Satan will do anything to kill, steal and wreak destruction in our lives. Satan’s plan goes against everything we stand for, our destiny and even how we are created to be. We are not created for death. Our original design did not include having to deal with sin. We are hard-wired to live in community, live authentic lives and be in constant communion with God the Father. As the verse says, if we serve Jesus we will be honoured by God. We, as lovers of Jesus, naturally find it difficult to live comfortably on this earth that has very little Peace. So, just like the verse says, we may find ourselves saying that we “hate our lives.” Why? We ache to see justice served and restoration and restitution made to ourselves and for others. Our souls long for something better than what we’re experiencing. But on a more basic level, we just want to be happy and that’s really hard when you’re hurting, abused, trying to survive, or maybe not feeling anything at all – just existing. Whatever your situation, we are promised in verse 25 that we will have life everlasting in Heaven. Life in Heaven will make up for all the brokenness we have endured in our earthly life. Sooo… we’ve got that going for us. It’s just a simple truth for a better tomorrow. Keep running the race. Be encouraged!

Blessings,

I heard a song called Burn The Ships by for KING & COUNTRY today that ministered to my heart so deeply. As I watched the video and listened to the lyrics, I was overcome with emotion by the mercies we experience in our forgiveness through the blood of Jesus Christ and how much we are loved. I listened to the song several times throughout the day, allowing the idea to really sink in of letting go of our past by burning the ships that hold the cargo of our hurts, some from the present but mostly from days gone by. I meditated on that deep level of love. I pictured Jesus being grieved because we refuse to cut the ties that hold us in bondage when He DIED for our ability to be free from all that junk. In that moment, I saw many people forgetting or not knowing about what Jesus did for us: how His BLOOD can bring freedom, healing for our woundedness and our pain. Have we forgotten about REPENTANCE? It’s so simple, and it’s a gift we’ve already been given. We need to “burn the ships, cut the ties, send the flame into the night. Say a prayer, turn the tide, dry your tears and wave goodbye” to everything that holds us in captivity so that we can be breathe in FREEDOM!

Galations 5:1 KJV Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage.

I hope this song speaks to you as much as it did to me.

My prayer today is that you will step into a new day as the fearless, courageous, and victorious light-filled person that you are created to be!

Much love & blessings,
